Robin who asked about the oil cloth covering shelves had another question about the kitchen drawers and was curious if I cover the bottoms of them in the same way as the shelves. Well, see for your selves.
The cutlery drawer has no liner because the drawer organizer covers the whole bottom of it.
The knife drawer got the adhesive covering treatment. The knives themselves are sitting on a strip of wood that we sawed grooves into and screwed into the bottom of the drawer from underneath.
The miscellaneous drawer bottom is also covered. I love the little milky plastic compartments. They are from a local store called Clas Ohlson but the have similar one's at the Container Store in the US.
More drawers coming up tomorrow. You must be so excited 🙂

I am excited! Your drawers look so neat and lovely.
Love the knife drawer! I will try to copy it for my kitchen. Thanks! xxx
I wouldn’t dare showing you what our kitchen drawers look like inside…but they look nothing like yours:-)
I love how neat your drawers look and that knife drawer is something else!
I was wondering, do you cut the aluminum foil with scissors or just rip it? Here in the States the box where the foil is stored has a cutting edge that makes it easier to rip.
You know we love to peek in your drawers!
The plastic boxes where we keep the aluminum foil and cling film have cutting edges inside. I love them (Muji)!

i AM excited. love these drawers. I need to find containers like the ones you show in the last photo.
Did you measure all the items for that drawer and then figure out from there how many/what size containers you needed?
Thanks! I found this one:

I actually bought a bunch and use them elsewhere too so I did the puzzle after I got them 🙂 I read somewhere that a good idea is to make a template of the bottom of your drawer and bring that to the store and do the puzzle there. Sounds smart!

I am excited looking at your drawers Benita. All that order is so soothing!
Benita, we moved to Stockholm yesterday (!) and would you believe it, today I passed a Clas Ohlsson wondering what kind of shop it is. Then back at our new apartment, I read on your blog that I can get clear plastic compartments there 😀
You moved up here?! Whereabouts? Permanently?
Yes, it’s such a coincidence since we only found out about a month ago that Stockholm was the next destination!
We’ll be here for at least one year and have subletted a lovely apartment in Solna.
And I have already visited the Muji selection at Åhléns 😀
I work in Solna!
I can see you are doing things in the right order 🙂
I shall look out for you then 🙂
Hi,
I was wondering if you could tell me where the white porcelain teaspoons (or demitasse spoons) with the tiny holes in the handles come from?
I love them! I bought mine in a grocery tore in China but I heard that CB2 sells them in the US.
Hi Benita,
Yes CB2 sells something similar. I actually ordered a set of those…the handles are quite long — at least 12cm long — which are better suited for appetizers than tea, much to my disappointment when I received them in the mail. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them at chinese/asian markets. Thanks for the info!
I think I remember seeing them at Pearl River Mart in NYC come to think of it!
Thank you for posting your kitchen drawers! The simplicity of your knife drawer inspired me to make one myself. I had to modify your design because I have rediculously large collection of knives from my mother and sister. But I’m so glad that I have all these sharp things out of the way from my little curious kids!
